      Cindy, You didn’t mention the dates of your visit. You are always welcome to ride on the club rides on Saturday mornings. Our Tuesdays night rides on Ranger Camp Road (RCR) start @ 4:45pm. RCR requires a recreation permit from the Jackson Guard in Niceville ($12/yr) RCR is an out and back ride through the Eglin range with very light traffic. A Lot of wildlife. In general the roads on Okaloosa Island are ripped up (unfinished) and not bike friendly at the moment. This Saturday’s Double Bay Bridge ride is on some very nice roads with the Col d’ Freeporta and Col d’ Bleu (Bridges) on the route; expect wind. The side roads of Destin can be very nice ride. I expect that soon a Thursday night ride will be forming up with some of the club members that will start on the Bluewater Bay side of Mid-Bay bridge and ride over to a Coffee Shop in Destin Outlet center and back (25 Miles); very nice. Not sure of your cycling experience or strength, we have All types in the club let us know when, what, where and we can get you in touch with the right contact(s).

    Val, This upcoming Saturday many of the club members will be participating in the “Tour de Ranch” century in Vernon,Fl. That being said the Mossy Head/Big Mary’s Loop ride is scheduled and many of the club riders will still be doing the club ride. It leaves from Mossy Head, Fl at 9am. It is probably one of our nicest club routes. Very low traffic and the roads are very nice up on the north end of the county. The Tuesday Night Ranger Camp club ride leaves at 4:45pm from the Lewis Turner/Ranger Camp road intersection. Plenty of parking. You do need to obtain a Recreation Permit ($12) from the Jackson Guard in Niceville before you are allowed to ride on the Eglin AFB reservation (Bomb Test Range – Don’t worry they close the road during missions). Last Tuesday night’s ride had 30 – 40 riders of all levels. It is also the trail head for the MTB trails. Kris Dodge
